Our assessments include:
- Personal and Domestic Care Needs including home modifications and specialised equipment requirements and tabulation of the cost of future and past care requirements.
- Mobility and Physiotherapy Needs including specialised equipment, splinting and plastering costs.
- Sporting Options for Athletes with a Disability including costing of adaptive sports equipment.
Our therapists use standardised assessments as well as skilled observation of the client’s performance of functional activities in their home environment.
Thorough assessment enables our therapists to determine and appropriately justify what assistance, equipment and therapy services have been necessary from the date of injury and what is required for future care needs.
Time frame:
Caswell Health Care attempts to maintain short waiting lists in order to provide referral sources with a four-week turn around from date of referral until completion of report.
Location:
It is our preference to conduct the assessments within the client’s home so the functional performance of our client can be assessed within their normal environment.
Caswell Health Care Therapists are able to travel anywhere within NSW. Physiotherapists are required to be registered in the different States of Australia, Joan Steele-Mills is registered to work in NSW, ACT and Queensland and South Australia.
Fees:
It is difficult to anticipate the total cost of a report prior to assessing the client, as the cost will be determined by many factors including the complexity of the injury, the number of recommendations, the amount of reports provided for pre reading, and the need for the use of an interpreter. The following is a guideline only on the hours required to assess your client and prepare the report.
Musculo-skeletal Injury 10 - 20 hours*
Complex Neurological Injury 30 - 40 hours*
(These assessments may require visiting the client at home on two occasions to conduct a thorough assessment.)
* No travel has been included in these estimates. Travel is charged at the same hourly rate but is negotiable for long distance travel.
