Frequently Asked Questions

Caswell Healthcare are Specialists in Neurological Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy for Children and Adults.

  • How long is your waitlist?
Our waitlist is generally between 1 - 2 weeks. Availability depends on: diagnosis; discipline/s required; location (in-clinic is quicker, community therapy requires a therapist to be in the area); and importantly time of day as we typically have busy periods at the start and end of the day. The more flexible you can be, even initially, the quicker we can commence therapy.

  • How do I know if therapy is beneficial?
Therapy may be required for a variety of different reasons and your GP or other regular health provider can advise you; but at the core, we would recommend that if you see that you, your child or person you are caring for are having difficulty with any of the following we would recommend seeking an appointment: Difficulty with movement, mobility, or general gross motor skills we would recommend physiotherapy Difficulty with every day self care tasks, fine motor skills, fussy eating, play skills, emotional regulation or behavioural difficulties we would recommend occupational therapy Difficulty with communication, speech and language, or feeding we would recommend seeing a Speech Pathologist
  • Do you do SDA or home mods?
Unfortunately we do not currently have any therapists who provide this service.
  • Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No you do not need a referral to see any of our therapists. However, a referral from a Doctor might give you access to a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan or Mental Health Care Plan both of which provide you with 5 x Medicare rebates.
  • What documentation do I need to provide?
We like to have a copy of any previous therapy or relevant doctor reports prior to an initial assessment, this helps our therapists tailor their assessment to your individual needs. A copy of your NDIS goals also helps us work with you to create individualised goals.

Yes. We have street parking just outside, with wheelchair access if required. We are happy to assist you from your car to our clinic.
  • What should I wear?
Whether you are seeking our adult or paediatric services we recommend you wear something comfortable and loose that allows you to move freely.
